Software engineer turned General Manager, now building systems where people and AI work together.
I am Yap Pat Yih, based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I run BlackRevo as General Manager and co-founder, I founded Habitus Mind, and I am building Lumen, the internal system that runs the agency.
My training is in software engineering. It taught me that anything complex is small, honest pieces connected the right way, and I have applied that to teams and businesses ever since.
In 2025 I was named among Malaysia’s 100 Most Influential Young Entrepreneurs (100 MIYE).
Off the clock I study the Dao. The word I keep coming back to is 合道: not a destination, a life spent walking in union with the Way. It shapes how I lead, which is mostly by removing friction and letting good systems do their work.

The mark
The mark is one brush stroke. In Chinese and Japanese calligraphy the open circle is drawn in a single breath and left unclosed on purpose: the work is the walking, not the arrival. That is 合道, the line this site keeps returning to.
The stroke lands heavy and lifts light. It begins thick, where a small boy takes things apart, and thins to a dry brush where a General Manager leads by removing friction. The gap at the top is the chapter still being written.
The ember is the one particle the stroke leaves behind: a single curious question. It is also the full stop after "A journey of curiosity."
The mark keeps time with the site. The particle field behind these pages is the same stroke, drawn with tens of thousands of points, and it takes three forms: the stroke, a circuit, a galaxy. One stroke, three forms. One curiosity, pointed at bigger systems.
